'Depart now': US asks Americans to leave these 14 countries 'immediately'; check the full list

The United States Department of State has called on its citizens in the Middle East to leave immediately as the conflict in the region escalated on the fourth day after Iran widened its strikes.

In an announcement made through a social media post, Mora Namdar, the assistant secretary of state for consular affairs, urged Americans to leave from the list of countries mentioned in the post.

"The @SecRubio @StateDept urges Americans to DEPART NOW from the countries below using available commercial transportation, due to serious safety risks," her post read.

Identifying a list of regions, the Department of State assured the security and safety of Americans worldwide, and provided helplines for immediate help. The countries include;

1. Bahrain

2. Egypt

3. Iran

4. Iraq

5. Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza

6. Jordan

7. Kuwait

8. Lebanon

9. Oman

10. Qatar

11. Saudi Arabia

12. Syria

13. United Arab Emirates

14. Yemen

The Department of State informed the public of 24x7 assistance numbers for Americans who require consular help, [phone] (from abroad) and [phone] (from the US and Canada).

The US government also made it mandatory that all travellers join the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) at step.state.gov for receiving direct security information, ensuring that the nearest embassy or consulate can maintain contact during a crisis, and follow the Department of State on WhatsApp and social media channels.

As international airspaces continue to face disruptions, avoiding to delay or cancellations of flights, the announcement posted by Namdar urges them to depart using commercial means.

The US-Israel offensive launched 'Operation Epic Fury' on February 27 to dismantle the nuclear threat posed by Iran and degrade its proxy terror networks, as noted in a statement released by the White House.

The conflict resulted in the killing of major Iranian leaders, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and leaving hundred dead across regions where projectile attacks took place.
