Iran wants ceasefire but will consider only if Strait of Hormuz opens, will keep blasting them till then: Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran's 'new regime' president wants a ceasefire ahead amid the ongoing war.

Trump wrote the same on his Truth Social website. He also said that the ceasefire would only happen when the Strait of Hormuz is 'open, free, clear'.

"Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion or, as they say, back to the Stone Ages!!!" he added.

Trump later, speaking to Reuters also said that 'United States ⁠will be out of Iran ⁠pretty ‌quickly ​and could return for 'spot hits' if needed.

Trump earlier on Tuesday had said that the fighting in Iran could be over in "two weeks, maybe three".

He is also expected to speak later in the day on the situation, which the White House said will be 'an important update on Iran'.
