Watch | Drone attack near US consulate in Dubai; no injuries reported

A drone attack was reported near the US Consulate in Dubai on Tuesday as witnesses saw smoke ⁠rising ​from the area. Shortly after the fire, the US confirmed the strike.

Since Saturday, Dubai and other Gulf cities have been under attack. The recent bombardment that caused a fire near the official building came after the US embassy in Riyadh was hit by an Iranian strike.

"Dubai authorities have confirmed that a fire resulting from a drone-related incident near the US Consulate has been successfully contained," the Dubai Media Office posted on X.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio informed the media that there were no injuries and said all staff were safe. Rubio ​said that all personnel were ⁠accounted for ‌after ‌a ⁠drone struck a ‌parking ‌lot ‌adjacent ‌to the US consulate ⁠in ⁠Dubai.
