H D Revanna terms his arrest a 'political conspiracy'

Former minister and JD(S) MLA H D Revanna has termed his arrest “politically motivated.”

He was brought to Bowring Hospital in the city on Sunday for a routine health check-up.

As he was deboarding from the police car in front of the hospital, Revanna said that he had an unblemished record of not crossing the path of any legal agency.

“This is a big conspiracy against our family. The police first tried to arrest me by filing a case on April 28, but could not find any evidence. After this, they have booked me in a fake kidnap case and brought me here,” he told reporters, as he was whisked away into the hospital by the police.

Revanna is accused of kidnapping a woman, who was allegedly sexually assaulted by his son and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna.

A case of kidnap was booked against Revanna by the victim’s son with the KR Nagar police, which has now been transferred to the Special Investigation Team headed by ADGP B K Singh.

The SIT is probing a large number of sex video clips which surfaced in Hassan.

Earlier in the day, the leader of Opposition R Ashoka said that the police were doing their duty by arresting H D Revanna.
