43 fresh cases of swine flu, total goes up to 361 so far

Forty-three swine flu cases were reported in the city on Thursday.
The total number of cases has now gone up to 361 this season. No death due to swine flu was reported on Thursday.

“Of the 204 cases tested today, 43 were found to be positive for the H1N1 virus. No deaths were reported today,” said a senior official of the Directorate of Health Services.

“Till now, all the patients who died of swine flu also had severe co-morbid conditions, which also contributed to the deaths,” the official added.


The capital has seen five deaths till now. On Wednesday, 30 swine flu cases were reported.

The Health Department has maintained so far that there is no fear of an outbreak and the disease should be treated as any other infection.

The common symptoms for swine flu are chest pain and difficulty in breathing, experts said.
