Hollywood star Angelina Jolie will essay the role of her own mother Marcheline Bertrand, who died from ovarian cancer in 2007, in a new biopic.

The 37-year-old actress had undergone double mastectomy on on Feb 16 this year and the new film will be produced by her partner Brad Pitt's company Plan B, reported Daily Express.
The biopic will celebrate her mother's life. Bertrand was deeply involved in humanitarian work. She had launched Give Love Give Life organisation to help Afghan women fight gynaecological cancers.

Angelina recently described her mother as "grace incarnate" and said, "I feel blessed that she was around to see both my brother and I in a nice place. She waited till everyone was OK. Then she closed her eyes."
