Yet another statue of Dalit icon B R Ambedkar was vandalised in Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh district, about 300 km from here, triggering tension in the area.
According to police sources here, some miscreants damaged a portion of the Ambedkar statue at Raja Patti village in the district on Saturday.
Security personnel have been deployed in the village.
A few days ago, an Ambedkar statue had been vandalised in the state's Meerut district, about 500 km from here.
A statue of Lord Hanuman had also been vanadalised some days ago in Ballia district
