The atmosphere was pleasing and charging for a fine concert with aesthetically erected platform. The Chitrakala Parishat’s spacious open air theatre was indeed inspiring.

Popular and highly talented artiste T M Krishna easily carried the day. He opened his concert with the composition “Amba Neelayatakshi Karunakatakshi.”

The raga (Neelambari), composition, presentation and the majestic “vilamba kaala” along with impactful voice made it a memorable experience.

The Behag thillana of Lalgudi Jayaraman had a brief alapana, nerval and swara prasthara, too.

The evocative composition “Janakee Pathe” was wholesome with raga, nerval and swara, which revealed his brilliance.

In fact, what he sings verily surges out of his very being and he chose a Bengali lyric as the concluding item. Seasoned instrumentalists – H K Venkataram on the violin, Arun Prakash on the mridanga and Ullur Giridhar Udupa on the ghata – accompanied with good understanding, maintaining the tempo with certitude.
