MLA C T Ravi has condemned senior politicians who wrongly cast their vote during Rajya Sabha polls.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he said, "There is no scope for a second chance to cast the vote. However, two senior MLAs sought a replacement ballot paper as they wrongfully marked their preference on the ballot paper. Such incidents do not bring honour to the elected representatives."
"The state government is engaged in dividing a religion. The move of the government to accord minority religion status to Lingayat and Veerashaiva-Lingayat has hurt even a few Congress MLAs. It is not right to rule by dividing a religion. It is the responsibility of the state government to protect the unity of the state."
He said that the district administration has not given permission for a Hindu convention at Kalburgi on March 27. This clearly proves that the state government is following anti-Hindu policy, he alleged.
BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Shivamogga and Tumakuru on March 26, 27 and Mysuru, Mandya and Ramnagara on March 30, 31. He will interact with Dalits, sericulturists and arecanut growers on the occasion.
