India on Monday promised its support to Uzbekistan to host a ministerial conference to discuss ways to end the conflict in Afghanistan.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj hosted Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov in New Delhi. "Relationship deep rooted in History! EAM @SushmaSwaraj hosted Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov for the bilateral meeting. The two FMs exchanged views on expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation," Raveesh Kumar, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, posted on Twitter.

Kamilov briefed Sushma about Uzbek Government's initiative to host a ministerial conference on the situation in conflict-ravaged Afghanistan late March.
