A 36-year-old man who was arrested on Thursday for killing a labourer and burning his body in Rajasthan has been sent to five days police custody by a local court on Friday.

Shambulal's 15-year-old nephew, who filmed the incident, was sent to a Child Care Home.

Speaking to the media, Shambulal said he killed 48-year-old Afrazul, a labourer, as his associate, also a Muslim from West Bengal, had eloped with a Hindu girl from his village a year ago.

"I am not ashamed for whatever I did. The man forcibly took her away. Her parents were upset over her wedding," said Shambulal.

However, SP Manoj Kumar said, "It is too early to see the connection between two incidents. We are investigating and we are trying to find out if there was anything that instigated him to commit the crime."

Meanwhile, internet services remained suspended in Rajsamand district on Friday to curtail circulation of the video clips.
