South Delhi Municipal Corporation’s budget for the financial year 2013-14 proposes increase in taxes and parking charge. But no major civic project has been planned.

Though SDMC has spared residential property owners, it has increased tax on commercial and residential properties that have been rented out, including farmhouses.

The SDMC commissioner also proposed a new parking fee regime, aiming to discourage use of private vehicles and promote the use of public transport. The civic body plans to focus on multi-level and commercial parking facilities, rather than on surface parking lots, which are putting pressure on traffic.
