Trinnamool wins four seats

Trinamool Congress won four seats while the Telangana Rashtra Samithi bagged all the three seats in the biennial elections held to the Rajya Sabha on Friday.

In West Bengal, Congress candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi and four Trinamool Congress nominees were elected. TMC-supported Singhvi secured 47 votes. Nadimul Haque, Subhasish Chakraborty, Abir Biswas and Santunu Sen of the Trinamool were also elected.

In Telangana, the TRS bagged all the three seats. Joginipalli Santosh and Badugula Lingaiah Yadav got 32 votes each while Banda Prakash Mudiraj polled 33 votes.

The Congress party, which fielded former central minister P Balram Naik, ended up with just 10 votes.
