As the company’s 140th celebrations draw to a close, it brought in the high profile Mumbai dabbawalas to hold a workshop for their employees on ‘How to compete in a complex market situation, how to innovate and create a niche in the business environment.’

A highly specialised trade that exists in Mumbai that is over a century old, the dabbawala originated when a person called Mahadeo Havaji Bachche started the lunch service with about a hundred man. More than 1,75,000 to 2,00,000 lunches get moved everyday in Mumbai by around 4,500 to 5,000 dabbawalas.
