3 die of swine flu in Hyderabad

Telangana health department has sounded high alert in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad following the death of three persons by swine flu on Tuesday.

 
According to Dr Narsimhulu, Gandhi hospital’s Nodal officer, Srinivas (35) of Uppal, Kavitha (25) of Suraram colony died on Tuesday, and Devraju of Medak district died while he was being shifted from a corporate hospital to Gandhi hospital.

About 25 cases of swine flu have been reported since October and over 53 cases have been reported in the year so far. “There are two more confirmed cases one in Karwan area and another in Makadarasa Makta (slum) area near Khairatabad area,” a health department official said.   State health minister Dr Rajaiah  on Thursday asked people not to panic and ordered health department officials to distribute Oseltamivir, the anti-viral medication.
