Anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare on Tuesday remarked that the intention of the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was not good.
“Niyat theek nahin hai unki… PM ki bhi mansha theek nahin hai (Neither her intention nor PM’s objective is good),” said Anna while reacting to Sonia’s letter sent to him on Saturday in which the UPA chairperson had sought to allay his apprehensions about the impending Lokpal bill.
Anna, who is scheduled to launch his nationwide agitation (also called Jantantra rally) from Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan on January 30, the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, was answering to media queries when he remarked that they (PM and Sonia) had been writing to him for the last two years, but it had not yielded any concrete result so far.
“Pichle do saal se yeh log mujhe likh rahe hai… ab tak kya hua,” he said to a query on why he was launching an agitation despite Gandhi’s assurance on passage of the Lokpal Bill in the Budget session.
