The Congress on Tuesday claimed that after Anantkumar Hegde, another leader of the ruling BJP, Jyoti Mirdha, has openly said that the party's aim is to change the Constitution, while asserting that it is a "deliberate strategy".
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) president Sharad Pawar on Tuesday said the mood of the people has changed ahead of the Lok Sabha polls and the sentiment is now clearly against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is seeking a third term in office.
Nine more candidates filed their nomination papers from Jammu Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday, an official spokesperson said.
With this, the total number of candidates who have filed their nomination papers from Jammu Lok Sabha seat stands at 13, he said.

On Rahul Gandhi's 'aag laga denge' remark, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav said that Rahul speaks with non-seriousness and has no facts to defend his statements.
"Who even believes what he says? What Rahul Gandhi says doesn't have any facts or seriousness. His own party doesn't take him seriously, what will someone else do...Congress is nowhere, it is lagging way behind. Rahul Gandhi is responsible for it. He never took Congress or elections seriously. There is still some time, we hope Congress will come out of its internal conflicts and have some self-introspection", he said.
Speaking to news agency PTI, AAP leader Gopal Rai said that the party aims to organise mass fasting on April 7 in protest of party supremo Arvind Kejriwal's arrest.
"We will organise a mass fasting across the country on April 7. We appeal all those who believe that Arvind Kejriwal's arrest has crossed all the limits of injustice and dictatorship that we need to raise our voice against it. In Delhi, AAP leaders and workers will gather at Jantar Mantar to hold mass fasting," he said.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that the government has given immense power to I-T, ED or CBI and said that if elected, Congress will review everything 'democratically' and by 'indulging parliamentary committees.'
"We will fight corruption with honesty, as our intentions are good", he said.
Speaking about Supreme Court's notice to the Election Commission, Jairam Ramesh said, "Supreme Court has taken a positive step. However, we have been demanding time for the last 10 months, but they (ECI) have denied this. We just want to put our demands, rest is their right to either work on it or not. We want 100% VVPAT. I think on the Court's notice, ECI should resolve this issue before April 19 and not after June 4."

After filing his nomination for Lok Sabha polls from Wayanad, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the election is a fight for democracy and constitution.
"On one side are the forces who want to destroy the democracy and the Constitution of this country, and on the other side there is a force that is protecting the Constitution and democratic nature of our country," he said.
Union Minister & BJP leader Pralhad Joshi said that Congress has contributed to the 'cohesive' environment in the country and that it is against 'Hindu-Muslim' unity.
"Congress has never contributed to a cohesive environment in the country. Be it Atal Bihari Vajpayee's or PM Modi's tenure, the country has been in more peace than Congress' tenure. Major riots in the country have happened in Congress' tenure. They never want unity between Hindu-Muslim. Congress party has an appeasement policy, hence, an anti-national party like SDPI is supporting them...", he said.
Vijender Singh, India's first Olympic medallist in boxing and a Congress leader, joined the BJP on Wednesday in Delhi.
"I have joined BJP today for the development of the country and to serve the people," ANI quoted Vijender Singh as saying.
The 2008 Beijing Olympics bronze medallist had contested on a Congress ticket in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from South Delhi constituency where he lost to BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri.

BJD President Naveen Patnaik has announced the second list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha.
He announced candidates for 5 Lok Sabha seats and 27 assembly seats.
BJD candidates for five Lok Sabha seats include Surendra Singh Bhoi (Balangir), Manjulata Mandal (Bhadrak), Parineeta Mishra (Bargarh), Bhrugu Baxipatra (Berhampur) and Dhanurjay Siddu (Keonjhar).
"There is huge enthusiasm even after 5 years... I don't know why the CPI or CPM is sending the candidate to contest against him (Rahul Gandhi). He is the sitting MP from Wayanad. We all the leaders of Kerala of the UDF not only the Congress demanded that he has to contest from here. A day after being granted bail by the Supreme Court in the Delhi excise policy case, AAP MP Sanjay Singh walked out of Tihar jail on Wednesday and said it was not a time to celebrate but struggle as scores of party workers gathered to greet him.
