Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag on Monday cancelled his official tour to Bhutan due to the current border standoff between Indian and Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh.

Gen Suhag was to visit the Himalayan country for four days to boost bilateral relations and oversee the activities of Indian Military Training team. But he had to cancel his plans due to the ongoing border crisis, which is continuing for the past two weeks. Several flag meetings between the two armies have failed to resolve the issue.

Close to 1,000 border guards from India and China are locked in a tactical face off by holding on to their positions near to an Indian post named 30R in the Chumar sector where Indian troops found Chinese army trying to build a road in the disputed area and advance the road up to a ridge line where India holds strategic advantage as of now.
