The bail to Lieutenant Colonel Shrikant Purohit now raises questions about the fate of Malegaon blasts case.

Purohit, who is one of the accused in the 2008 Malegaon blasts in which seven people were killed, would now walk out on bail for the first time after he was jailed nine years ago. He claimed that he has been caught in “political crossfire” and made a scapegoat in the case. ATS had named him, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur and ten others in the case. The NIA had taken over the case in 2011 during UPA rule.
