The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Wednesday raided the residence of the Public Works Department (PWD) engineer Vijay Kumar Bhatpahri. He is the chief engineer of PWD's Raipur circle.

"He has assets of at least Rs.60 million disproportionate to his known sources of income. He owns a petrol pump, a massive home, a farm house and a rice mill, besides half a dozen vehicles," EOW Additional Director General D.M. Awasthi told reporters.

A case has been registered against Bhatpahri under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.  The engineer was recruited in 1992.
