As three people, who were seriously injured after the building collapse in Vadodara on Wednesday, continue to battle for their lives, an FIR has been registered against unknown people on Thursday citing negligence which led to the collapse.

With 11 people dead, the rescue operators continue to demolish the third building which developed cracks after the collapse of the neighbouring two buildings. While authorities claimed that the rubble was cleared, they are still to decide on the fate and security of the people in the remaining 37 towers. The residents have submitted a memorandum to the authorities of the Vadodara Urban Development Authority about the deteriorating condition of the buildings, but the authorities failed to take note of  the complaints. The residents are now adamant that they will not budge from the area till they are given a better alternative.

They maintain that they are even ready to risk their lives.

Meanwhile, politicking over the issue has already begun with the Vadodara unit of the Congress taking to streets and demanding action against the corrupt VUDA authorities and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
