India's longest road tunnel to open on April 2

Chenani-Nashri tunnel on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the country's longest road tunnel, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 2.

The work on the 9.2 km-long twin-tube tunnel, which is part of a 286-km-long four-lane project on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, started on May 23, 2011 in lower Himalayan mountain range.
