Alva's 9th MBA batch all set to begin on Sept 21

The inaugural ceremony of the 9th MBA Batch of Alva’s institute of Engineering & Technology, Mijar, Moodbidri will be held at the MBA Seminar Hall of the institute on September 21 at 10 am.

According to a press release, the inauguration will be done by Jio Natural Pvt Ltd (Bengaluru) CEO Jayas Damodaran, while College alumnus and Silicon India (Bengaluru) Senior Relationship Manager Prasheel Shetty will be the guest of honour and Alva’s Education Foundation Managing Trustee Vivek Alva will preside over.

This year’s MBA batch is all set to begin with its full strength of 120 students from all regions from the country, including Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mumbai, Delhi, Kerala, Hyderabad and North Karnataka.

Vidyarambha by Pejavara seer

Udupi Pejavara mutt seer Sri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji will initiate children to education, through ‘Vidyarabha’ ritual at Manjuprasada in Mallika Layout, Kadri Kambla on September 30, on the occasion of Vijayadashami. Kalkura Prathishthana will organise the programme.

The students starting music lessons and initiating ‘Aksharabhyasa’ may attend the programme at the Vadiraja Mantapa of Manjuprasada. Krishna contest by ISKCON

ISKCON, Mangaluru, will conduct Krishna contest and ‘Goloka Shades’ colouring and painting contest on November 4, stated a press release.

Sri Krishna contest is a state wide written competition for schoolchildren from classes five to 10, based on the topic of Krishna conscious.

‘Goloka Shades’ is a state level colouring and painting contest meant for students from LKG to class four.

Registration fee for Sri Krishna contest and Goloka Shades is Rs 40 and Rs 30 respectively.

Navaratri celebration by Chinmaya Mission

Chinmaya Mission, ‘Sharada Sannidhi’, Hoige Bazar, Mangaluru will celebrate Navaratri from September 21 to 30, stated a press release.

Speacial Poojas will be performed in the Ashram on the occasion, including 'Argala Stotra', 'Sapthashati Parayana', 'Lalita Sahasranama Archana' and 'Durga Namsakara'. Office-bearers elected

Dharmana Naik has been re-elected as the president of the Milagres-Falnir Ward Residents’ Welfare Association for a period of two years, at the AGM held on Monday, according to a press release.

Other office-bearers elected are: J F D’Souza (Vice-President), Selma D Souza (Secretary), Doris Lobo (Joint Secretary), Shailaja R Nayak (Tresurer), Zita Farias (organising secy) and T C M Sharieff (Convenor). BDS orientation programme

Orientation programme for the students of 2017 batch of BDS will be held on September 21 at Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences, Mukka at 10:15 am.

According to a press release, the programme will be inaugurated and presided over by Srinivas University Chancellor and A Shama Rao Foundation President CA A Raghavendra Rao.
