Glaciers in the Himalayas make a significant contribution to water resources for millions of people.
Justice N K Patil, retired judge of the High Court of Karnataka, on Friday took the oath of office as Judicial Member of Appellate Tribunal for Electricity here.
Justice Patil, who hails from Bidar district, was appointed a judge of the Karnataka High Court in 2000 and served as a senior judge till his retirement in 2016.
He was also the chairman of the Karnataka Legal Services Authority and the author of the report on conservation of lakes in Bengaluru in 2011.
He was also the chairman of the Committee for Prevention of Malnutrition, constituted by the High Court. He will serve as Judicial Member, Appellate Tribunal of Electricity for a period of three years
