"Reservation facility helps in achieving social justice, but there is a feeling that social justice can be achieved only through reservation facility, which is wrong," said Prakash Yashwant Ambedkar, grandson of Dr B R Ambedkar.

Inaugurating the 85th birth anniversary celebrations of former Chief Minister S Bangarappa here on Saturday, Prakash stressed the need for a revised education policy meeting the requirements of students and weaker sections.

"Bangarappa was a visionary and straightforward person, he implemented many programmes for the weaker section of the society. He was a leader with a great desire to implement what he thought," he added.

Former chairman of the Legislative Council V R Sudarshan said, "The politics during the time of Bangarappa was for the people, but today politics has become a sector for investment and business. If the  politics and election system in the country do not improve, the country will have to face serious consequences."
