The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) is developing various cost-effective and innovative initiatives to maintain an edge in technology to help the country prosper, said Isro Chairman A S Kiran Kumar.
In his convocation speech at the National College, Basavanagudi, on Sunday, he said:" Isro is moving forward with the development of heavy lift launchers, reusable launch vehicles, cryogenic engines, low-cost access to space, development and use of composite materials for space applications."
During the convocation, 11 students were presented gold medals in UG and PG programmes and 1,240 students were presented convocation certificates.
Due to delay in renewing affiliation by Bangalore University, students of the National College were given convocation certificates three years after they graduated.
The UGC had sent a team from Delhi for inspection. However, the BU had not sent a team for separate inspection which delayed renewal of the autonomous status of the college for about three years, said sources.
