27-yr-old arrested for bike theft, 14 bikes recovered

Adugodi police arrested a 27-year-old man on Friday for stealing high-end bikes such as KTM and Royal Enfield. Police have seized 14 bikes worth Rs 10 lakh from him.

The accused has been identified as Arjun N, a native of Tamil Nadu. The police said that he would travel to the city on a bus and return with a stolen bike. He would target bikes parked outside the houses in residential areas.

According to City Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar, Arjun would sell the stolen bikes in Tamil Nadu.

The bikes stolen in Adugodi, Varthur, Electronics City and Banasawadi were recovered from him, the police said adding that they are looking for his associate Manikanta.

The police said: "The duo would go in search of expensive bikes parked on the roadside. They would spend some time observing the movement of the residents and once everyone went to sleep, the duo would break open the locks and drive them to Tamil Nadu. Arjun was arrested with the help of Tamil Nadu police."
