3 persons held for receiving answers over phone in KPSC exam

Three persons were arrested for receiving key answers over phone at two centres of the physical education teacher examination of Karnataka Public Service Commission, in Davangere on Monday.

The suspects received the answers through their mobile earphones from a prompter sitting in a private lodge. The trio had struck a deal to pay the prompter Rs 11.5 lakh.

The arrested are D Srinivas, resident of Belagere village and R Thippesh Naik of Miyapur, both Channagiri taluk, besides Subash of Obbajjihalli of Davangere taluk. They were appearing for the KPSC written examination, conducted by KRIES Morarji Desai Residential School.

On a tip-off, a police team led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Padma Basavanthappa caught the suspects red-handed. While  Srinivas and Subash were caught at Nutan College, Thippesh Naik was held at Millat School. Police recovered earphones, mobile phones, speaker and other equipment used in the offence. Police have launched a manhunt for prime accused Pradeep.

On interrogation, the suspects told the police that they  hadstruck  a  deal with Pradeep for  sending  them  key  answerson  mobile.
