The camp had 30 endearing and completely vaccinated puppies kept for adoption. Achala Paani, the founder of this organisation said: “Many people turned up and we got a great response, many of them adopted more than one puppy; as many as 22 puppies were adopted.”
Shruti, a resident of Malleswaram, who adopted two puppies said: “It is important that everyone gets a chance; these cute puppies were not strays out of choice, I am really satisfied and I think more such camps should be organised and they should be encouraged.”
Arun Kumar from Hebbal, also had a similar opinion to share; he said that he is very happy with the initiative undertaken by the organisation. “My family is pleased with me for adopting a puppy and I think I am doing my bit in controlling stray menace,” he said.
The camp was organised after an overwhelming response to previous camps. Achala, who is passionate about homeless puppies, says that all the puppies which the organisation owns, are with strong immune system and they adapt to environments easily. She believes that adoption would definitely help in solving the street dog issue in a sensible way. Most of the areas in the City face the stray dog menace. Last week in an incident near Yelahanka New Town, a two-and-a-half-year old kid was mauled to death by a pack of four to five stray dogs. ‘Let’s live together’ is here to change the scenario of the stray dogs; the organisation is striving hard to condition these unfortunate creatures and provide them with all the love and affection they deserve.
