Holystoked Collective is a club of young skaters, who roll only on passion in Bengaluru. They don’t have regular access to skating arena and are forced to practice on the streets and shopping complexes.
On the uneven Bengaluru roads and pavements, skating amid unruly traffic is a dangerous proposition. But as we found out, that is not enough to stop them.
Nor are the injuries, a frequent professional hazard in this sport.
They started a skate park at HSR Layout last year. But that got tangled in legal issues and shut down. There is another park on the Sarjapur road, which is too expensive for them.
And they continue to skate, tailing tempos and trucks, dangerously.
If thrill is what makes life exciting, they have loads of it.
