The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a petition complaint in the seizure of Rs 1.97 crore cash from advocate H M Siddarth.

Documents available with the DH shows that in May 2017 Union Department of Personnel and Training had sent a communication to the state government ‘for action as appropriate’ on a complaint filed by social activist Ravikrishna Reddy.

Further, the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances forwarded Reddy’s complaint to the ACB for appropriate action. A senior police official in the ACB confirmed that a petition inquiry has been taken up in the complaint.

On October 21, 2016, advocate Siddarth was caught with Rs 1.97 cash in his car at the Vidhana Soudha gate. The CCB police had filed the charge sheet in March 2017 stating that further investigation was required in the case since it was established that the money did not belong to Siddarth.
