The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is all set to allot more flats in the coming days. It will issue applications for 2,344 flats in a week. The allotment will happen after one-and-a-half months.

The agency allotted 759 flats through a computerised process on Thursday. These include 40 one-BHK (bedroom, hall and kitchen) flats in Halagevaderahalli, 30 one-BHK flats in Malagala, 162 one-BHK flats in Valagerahalli, 14 one-BHK flats in Doddabanahalli and 198 one-BHK flats in Alur. Besides, the BDA allotted 41 two-BHK flats in Kommaghatta, 63 two-BHK flats in Doddabanahalli and 28 two-BHK flats in Kanminike, and 183 three-BHK flats in Valagerahalli.

BDA Commissioner Rajkumar Khatri said that the computerised system was used as it was faster, accurate and easier. The system will adopted in all allotments from now on. The BDA started using the system when Jayakar Jerome was its commissioner in 2002.

Mahendra Jain, Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development Department, said the BDA had 2,050 flats at present.

These include 300 one-BHK flats in Alur, 360 two-BHK flats in Malagala, 180 two-BHK flats in Kommaghatta, 500 two-BHK flats in Kanminike, 450 two-BHK flats in Doddabanahalli, three-BHK flats in Valagerahalli, three-BHK flats in Alur and 104 villas in Alur. The remaining flats are being constructed at a cost of Rs 700 crore.
