The workers criticised the central government for passing on the responsibility of increasing the amount, to the state government. The protesters demanded that the honorarium for ASHA workers and mid-day meal employees should be increased in the state budget.

The central government has reduced funds for integrated child development and mid-day meal schemes. They later withdrew their protest as Kumar promised that he would hold a meeting on Sunday.
