Parents who wish to enrol their children in private schools through the Right To Education (RTE) Act quota can apply at the BangaloreOne centres and Atalji Janasnehi Kendras this academic year.

Officials from the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) held a meeting with various stakeholders to discuss admissions to the 25% seats in private schools under the RTE Act.

Members of parents’ associations and school associations gave various suggestions for the process to move smoothly. Objections were raised against making Aadhaar card mandatory for application.

The application process is likely to begin on January 16. On Thursday, the department officials will discuss the various suggestions and, come to a conclusion on the rules and processes for this academic year.
