A decision in this regard was taken by a committee headed by the State Transport Secretary in December.
The committee was formed following a High Court order which suggested the formation of a panel to consider the feeder service.
The High Court had passed the order after hearing a petition by senior citizen N Parameswaran who had filed an interlocutory application proposing a two-tier system called the feeder route - trunk route system to be adopted by the BMTC.
Parameswaran felt this could reduce congestion in the City.
The performance of the service will be reviewed during the experiment and it will be withdrawn if it affects revenue and inconveniences commuters, BMTC sources said.
