Bengaluru has given rise to many young entrepreneurs with some of them even being students. Two final-year BBM students of St Joseph’s College — Umang Chordia and Nikita Agarwal — recently started a fashion recommerce website called Once Again, which provides a platform for women to sell and buy designer fashion from each other’s wardrobe.

In other words, it’s a website that helps women de-clutter their closets profitably by selling the clothes that they own.

“We are both classmates and best of friends. We would often discuss business ideas and this idea came to us in February. Nikita was cleaning out her closet and we were discussing the used car market among other things. We wondered why not start a similar one for clothes,” reminisces Umang.

For Nikita, who comes from a business background, being an entrepreneur was always a dream.

“My family is into the restaurant business and I would often help them out during my free time. I was inspired by many of my family members, who started working when they were only 16 or 17. Even my parents were very supportive and would encourage me to think of business plans and ideas. So when this came about, Umang and I started working on it,” she explains.

The website was launched in July and has grown in a short span of time. It has 34,000 users, 320 listed products and made 120 sales. It is operating in 23 states now with a majority of sellers from Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.

From clothes to bags and accessories, women can sell a variety of their branded items on it. All that a seller has to do is upload a few pictures of the product and fill in a few details. “The seller can quote a price and upload the picture of the item. We take only good quality brands and have products from high street brands like Zara, Burberry, Mango and
Chemistry,” says Umang. Once the product is sold, the team handles everything and delivers it to the buyer’s house.

The two youngsters attend college till 12 pm post which, they head over to their office in Indirangar to start work. They are there till late evening and come home to work all the more.

“Our college has been extremely supportive in all our endeavours. We have friends from Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology who helped us design the logo and a few of our friends from Christ University, who are pursuing media studies, helped us create a video. We also work with other start-ups different aspects and it has been a great learning experience,” informs Nikita.

The duo will graduate early next year post which they plan to plunge into business full-time.

“We are already doing it full-time but once we finish college, we will focus on improving it even further. We plan to branch out into categories like shoes, scarves, men’s wear, wedding wear and maternity wear and also introduce an auctioning feature on the lines of eBay. We also want to introduce an app in the coming year,” she adds.
