Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is in Belgium, called up top Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials on Friday and directed them to ensure proper implementation of relief works following heavy rains in Bengaluru.

According to the CM’s secretariat, Siddaramaiah called BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad and obtained details about the extent of havoc and damage caused due to the rains. He instructed Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy and Bengaluru City Mayor Manjunath Reddy to visit the affected areas and oversee relief work.

The chief minister is in Belgium to be with his son Rakesh, who is undergoing treatment at Antwerp University Hospital. Siddaramaiah is holding the Bengaluru Development portfolio following the resignation of K J George over DySP M K Ganapathi suicide case.
