The Consul-General of Consulate-General of Japan in Bengaluru will be hosting the 'Manga Planet Cosplay Walk '18' at St Mark's Hotel on March 18, 3 pm onwards.

In recent years, there are increasing number of Indian audiences who follow Japanese comic and animation content.

Due to which there are many events held around India with pop culture as the theme and are attended by thousands of cosplayers and Japanese pop-culture enthusiasts from all across India.

The city has many residents who love the Japanese popular culture genre. With the support from this section of the mass, the Cosplay Walk aims to promote young, vibrant tourism from all across India and the world, and endorse the city of Bengaluru.

The event will have a cosplay photo session from 1 pm onwards with three special cosplay backdrops. This will then be followed by the Cosplay Walk where Japanese culture lovers can walk through St Mark's Road as their favourite characters.

The Consul-General, Takayuki Kitagawa said, "The vision of this initiative is to promote international tourism in India through the power of pop-culture, and create stronger bonds between India and Japan."

"St Mark's Road is known to be the most beautiful street in Bengaluru and through this event, one hopes that it someday becomes the biggest pop-culture street in India, similar to the Harajuku street in Japan. Harajuku is currently home to the biggest pop-culture street in the world," he added.
