Foodie's converge at Suraj Kund Mela for a treatl Finger-licking fare

Entering into its second week, the 29th International Surajkund Crafts Mela has succeeded in tempting the connoisseurs of splendid cuisine with its delectable spread.

Authentic cuisine of various states and nations is tickling the visitors’ palate, many of who are first time visitors to the colourful fair.

Theme State Chhattisgarh serves sumptuous dishes made from rice and rice-based dishes, including pakodas and sweet dishes. A typical Chhattisgarh thali consists of khapori roti, uradh vada, jimi-kand, godali bhaji and dal. Bijouri chaat, chawal kurkuri, chawal papad, farra are among other dishes served by the Theme State.

Food stall of the Mela’s Partner Nation, Lebanon is a treat for Mediterranean food lovers. Mograbiay with Tahina sauce, Falafel, Hommous, Mankoushay, Chicken Crispy and Falafel rolls are the main dishes being offered by the Lebanese stall.

Like previous editions, the food stall from Pakistan, specialising in Mughlai foods, continues to tempt food lovers. The Pakistani stall serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes to cater to all customers. Dum Biryani, Lahori Chicken, Chicken Nihari, Peshawari Tawa Chicken, Chicken Changezi and many such delicacies are the highlights of the Pakistani stall.

Even dishes made from soya are a great hit at the melaand are finding many takers amongst both the vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Vezlay quality foods set up a stall offering its delicious and nutritious Soya Sheek kebab, Shami kebab, Indie fries, Soya Tikka, Veg Chicken and Soya nuggets.

Rajasthani stalls were also wooing foodies with authentic Rajasthani dishes, specially dal bati churma, missi roti with gatta sabzi, churma laddu, Jodhpuri mirchi bada and much more. Jammu and South Indian food stalls also found favour with the foodies.

The food stall of hosts Haryana Tourism, offers a wide range of items from snacks to main course to desserts. Hot selling items at the Haryana Tourism food stall include kesari kheer, Amritsari kulcha, Ram laddoo and pao bhaji. Dominos, Mother Dairy, Lipton, Coca Cola have also set up their particular stalls at the fair.
