The Bruhat Bangalore Hotel Association (BBHA), the Karnataka Pradesh Hotels and Restaurants Association (KPHRA) have joined hands with the Institute of Public Health for  better implementation of the Anti-Tobacco Act.

Addressing a press meet here on Monday, the associations said they will make it mandatory to instal a board on prohibiting the use of tobacco products in all hotels and restaurants. Ramachandra Upadhyaya, President of KPHRA, said they will also display the contact details of the senior members of the association to ensure that complaints about violations are brought to their notice.

The BBHA appealed the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike to make it mandatory for all registered hotels to become a part of the association to help sensitise them about various issues.
