KAS officer K Mathai has written to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stating that he is being harassed by his senior officers and that an “independent accountability commission” be constituted to enquire into the same.

In his letter, Mathai, who is serving as an administrative officer in Sakala Mission, has stated that during his tenure as assistant commissioner (advertisement), BBMP, he had brought to light revenue loss to the extent of Rs 2,000 crore to the civic agency in 2015. Similarly, he had exposed revenue loss to the extent of Rs 300 crore to Mandya Urban Development Authority in 2014.

However, instead of appreciating his “hard work,” Mathai stated that he had been continously subjected to harassment leading to agony.

The letter states that he had been issued 27 transfer orders in the past nine years. His “waiting period salary” had not been paid for the past two years.
