Man injured at Metro station to be discharged today

 A 59-year-old man, who was injured after he was pushed from a train at the Majestic Metro station by a fellow passenger on July 25, has been operated upon and will be discharged on Saturday.

Balakrishna, an employee of the Department of Defence Accounts, was injured in his left hip and was rushed to Hosmat hospital immediately.

On examination, it was found that the upper end of the left thigh bone was broken just below the ball of the hip. He had blood clots and was on anti-clotting drugs.

On July 31, bipolar hemi arthroplasty procedure was done. In this operation the ball of the hip was replaced. He will return home tomorrow and will rejoin work after one month,” said Dr Thomas Chandy, director and chief of Hosmat hospital.
