Marching for a good causejumbo calling

Friends of Elephants’ are collaborating with the BBMP Forest Cell and Namma Metro to host an awareness camp to protect elephants and rhinoceros on October 4. 

   They will take part in a march, which is part of a global initiative that will be held across 115 cities. 

Participants who are interested to take part in the Global March can gather at 7am at Queen Victoria’s statue, MG Road. 

A special programme on pachyderms will be held in the evening from 6pm to 8pm at Rangasthala - Rangoli Metro Arts Centre as well. 

The dramatics team of IISc, ‘Rangmanch’, will present a skit called ‘Ivory is Why I Worry’, followed by a screening of a film called ‘North-Eastern Diaries: Kaziranga, Land of Rhino’ by Sandesh Kadur. 

At 7pm, a Dr AJT Johnsingh will give a lecture on ‘The Conservation of Pachyderms in India: Elephants and Rhino’. The day will conclude with a discussion on ‘Past and Future of Pachyderms’.
