Jyothiprakash Mirji, who was transferred out of the city in the run-up to the May 5 Karnataka Assembly elections, today re-assumed charge as the City Police Commissioner.

Mirji replaced Raghavendra Auradkar, who was brought in as commissioner to ensure smooth conduct of assembly polls.

He along with many IAS and IPS officers were transferred on Election Commission's directions.

The EC’s move had caused heartburn among several IAS and IPS officials including Mirji.
