BJP corporator from Kacharakanahalli, Padmanabha Reddy, on Monday demanded a CBI probe into the illegal sale of land by the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (Nice) at an astronomical price.

The land was first acquired by the Karnataka Infrastructure Development Board (KIDB) from farmers at a throwaway price.

Reddy said Nice illegally sold 30 guntas of land for Rs 1.65 crore, on December 7, 2011. “The land, that was acquired for 30 years on lease as per the framework of agreement, was sold illegally. The buyer, R Sathyanarayana Rao applied for khatha on June 08, 2012, at the BBMP. The Palike revenue officials in Rajarajeshwari Nagar Zone sent it to the zonal level legal cell. Officials at the zonal level too gave an opinion on September 5, 2012, favouring the sale deed and permitted the BBMP to issue the khatha,” said Reddy. Reddy blamed the RR Nagar zone legal cell for giving the illegal opinion that waved the way for issuance of khatha.
