Bengaluru Development Minister K J George on Thursday said owners and architects of buildings will be held responsible for substandard construction.
Replying to K Pratapchandra Shetty of Congress in the Council, he said all building owners have to give an undertaking to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) declaring that all rules have been complied with. Only then will the BBMP issue occupation certificate. The owner and the architect will be held responsible if it proves to be false, he added.
