PhD student goes missing

A 35-year old PhD research student, identified as Atreyee Majumdar, a resident of Bellandur, has been missing since April 4.

Atreyee was staying with her parents at Kariyammana Agrahara. She left home at 9 am on April 4 with her passport and money. She was last seen at a hotel in Whitefield in the city.

"Atreyee was last seen in the hotel and we have collected the CCTV footage from the hotel and are investigating," the police said.

Atreyee is an alumnus of the National Law School of India University in Bengaluru.

Family and friends of Atreyee have shared her pictures on social media in an attempt to reach out to her. She was in Toronto, Canada pursuing her post-doctoral research.

The Marathalli police have registered a missing case and are investigating. When DH tried to speak to her relatives, they refused to comment.
