The High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday dismissed a PIL seeking directions not to shift the Indiranagar police station to Halasuru traffic police division on the grounds that it would cause inconvenience to residents of Indiranagar.

P Ramesh Welfare Charitable Trust and others had challenged the notification issued by the Additional Commissioner (Traffic) on April 24 on shifting the Indiranagar police station's jurisdiction to Halasuru traffic police jurisdiction.

The petitioners had argued they will have to visit the Halasuru police station to recover their vehicles towed away by the traffic police for violations.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice S K Mukherjee and Justice P S Dinesh Kumar dismissed the PIL on the grounds that the petitioners were not the aggrieved party and the change in the police station jurisdiction was made only for administrative reasons.
