RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital celebrated its fourth Graduation Day recently. The 2008-09 batch of students gathered at the venue, which was the college auditorium at 7 am. The venue was filled with enthusiasm, anticipation and happiness.

Dr Mylswamy Annadurai, programme director, IRS & SSS, Indian Space Research Organisation and the man behind India’s lunar mission ‘Chandrayaan – 1’, was the chief guest on the occasion.

He was welcomed by Chairman AC Shanmugam; Medical Director Dr Ramachandra and Special Officer Dr Prabhudev. After the photo session with the graduating students, the chief guest was taken to the auditorium with much fanfare.
Welcoming the august gathering, Dr Ramachandra talked about the journey under taken by the RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital. He  also gave a brief introduction about the chief guest. Also present on the occasion was Prof RM Vasagam, former vice- chancellor of Anna University, an eminent ISRO scientist himself.

AC Shanmugam while giving the presidential address, reiterated the Medical College and Hospital’s commitment to serve the poor. 

Highlighting the speciality and super-speciality services being offered by the Hospital, the chairman also shared his vision for the institution that is to make RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital a one-stop healthcare destination.

Addressing the students, the chief guest stated that the University degree is only a stepping stone to achieve more in life. 

He advised the students not to be money-minded. He applauded the services rendered by the hospital to the community and also the accreditations. 

He urged the students to take up more research work as now more opportunities, funds are available for the benefit of the poor. The chief and the chairman distributed certificates and gold medals to the students.
