Police search for flasher who targets lone women

Bengaluru, DHNS: The Subramanyanagar police are searching for a man who has been flashing at women in public places and harassing them over the past few weeks.

Based on CCTV footage, they identified the culprit as a security guard residing in AK Colony, who targets lone women early in the morning who either walk, draw rangoli or sweep the front of their houses and flashes at them.

The man does not spare working professionals returning home in the evenings also, the police said.

As the man flashed at a woman walking near the Sangolli Rayanna Park on Thursday night, several passers-by took videos of him on their mobile phones. They later handed over the footage to the police when the woman lodged a complaint.

On identifying the culprit, the police went to his house, but he is absconding since he suspected someone had complained.

The Subramanyanagar police have booked him under IPC Section 354A and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and are on the lookout for the suspect.
